We are here safe and sound. Been very busy with family. It is slowly gathering speed and density. People have gathered from around the globe for the wedding. Today the French Loudons arrived so now there is no space left in any house. Mark and I have moved into a B&B. Eva is safe at her Nanny and Grandads though.

I went to see an old friend – Ian Sansom – today. Who I haven’t seen for 10 years. We had a great time. It is good to know I have a friend to visit when we come over. I hope we will be invited over again.

So, tomorrow I shall visit aged relatives and try to rest before the big day. Although there is a football match to watch tomorrow night. I just hope it is a good result or the wedding will have a black cloud over it.

Got to go now. Beds are being made and Eva needs to get into one.

I am off to Belfast in a moment. Will be out of Bristol town for a few days. However, given the excitement of the event (Mark’s sister Emma is getting married) I hope to get so blogging in. Just to keep you in the loop. Too poor to buy new clothes so I have a new handbag, sliver crocs and necklacegoing to see if I can find some ‘reasonably priced’ sunglasses from TKMAX then I am set with an outfit.

All packed and ready. Off I go.

…pure genius.

Liz H (who is today’s birthday girl) was blogging this afternoon and chanced upon Malcolm Chamberlain‘s posting of Adam Buxtons Songs of Praise with subtitles. I have subsequently noticed that Paul Roberts has also put this link up. But, it gave Liz H so much pleasure – and she is the birthday girl – so I feel it is only right to put this up as well.

I also enjoyed Adam’s Signing for the Deaf (with translation for the dumb) which made me chuckle. What a funny Friday.

rock n roll rev

leave a comment »

St Claire of Toxteth has brought Phil the rock n roll rev to my attention. I really can’t discern whether his band revisit are any good but they certainly have made an impression in Burnley – if the Lancashire Telegraph are to be believed. They have made a great little video story of the rock n roll rev which you can watch on their video page. If anyone has any further info or has heard the band or their latest single I would love to know what you think…

I have bleached my hair again. My head is quite sore now and I am a bit heady (the fumes have made me feel a bit odd). It really is very white this time. So, thanks to everyone who got involved in this experiment and to those who offered to help.

I must mention Phil J’s blog again. Partly because I haven’t had a chance to speak to him after the America’s Next Top Model final – and what a final it was. I won’t spoil it for those of you who may try to catch up on replay. But it is worth it. Also because he helped me to remember that the Arctic Monkeys video is so great that I have decided to copy PJ and feature it here. See you later elevator…

back to college

with one comment

Both Eva and I have managed to get sick just before we go back to school/college! I went in to college today for chapel at 8.10am – as it is St George’s Day we had communion. It was great to see college mates again – though because is a study day there weren’t many people about.

My worship team is leading this week – I am leading on Thurs – so I was involved in helping with the service this morning. If I hadn’t I think I would have stayed in bed. But now I am up I am hoping to get some PhD done later. Once I have got rid of my headache.

Can’t believe it – been fine most of the holidays now I am ill again. Anyway, I got back int my college room and put the laptop on my desk (Liz has already moved back – books on shelves and files out). Hey ho, try again tomorrow.
